I traveled to Berlin, Germany last week for tour training. I learned many things about touring together that I will share with you over the coming months.
Here are two first thoughts:
- Make sure you have good walking shoes! We will do a lot of walking in our destination cities, so make sure you have broken your shoes in before you go. Consider going on some good walks with friends and family before you leave to be sure you're ready. We walked about six miles on our first day.
- You will need warm clothes for Italy in February. I sat next to a man on my flight back who grew up in Rome. He said you should dress for the kind of cold you would have here. Bring sweaters and a jacket and a hat. Your goal is to pack enough warm things but still fit it all into two carry-on travel packs (a small backpack to keep at your feet and on your back...and a small suitcase you can take on the plane). I will review this at our next meeting.
